A small & mighty aspiration for our nibblings

Where are my aunties?

Honestly, becoming an occasional auntie a bit over a year and a half ago has been such a joy.

The first time I met my nibbling (niece or nephew… sounds way cuter AND is gender neutral!!) he was smaller than a loaf of challah. Now the kiddo can walk, say “cookie,” and can eat challah.

It’s so interesting to hear different family members share their hopes for what they’ll be able to do alongside this kiddo.

I can’t wait to take this kiddo on a bike ride.

As a child, the magic of a scooter or bike can open up a sense of incredible freedom.

Suddenly on a bike… I’ll take myself there! What a concept! What freedom!

And perhaps dear spoker, reading the news or just being a human out in the world, that magic sense of freedom, feels so far out of grasp. In fact the word freedom might ignite in your mind’s eye something that’s the antithesis of freedom.

If that’s you, dear spoker, I’m breathing right there with you and I’m inviting you to tap into that beautiful state you may have felt as a child on a scooter or a bike… that of unapologetic freedom.

To pull from the world of dance, “Movement never lies. It is a barometer telling the state of the soul’s weather to all who can read it.

Martha Graham

So this is just a short note into your inbox this Monday to invite you to move, this week, in a way that ignites your sense of freedom.

  • Perhaps that’s tapping into that freedom energy by hoping on a bike ride for the pure sake of movement.

  • Perhaps that’s putting on some John Batiste and dancing.

  • Perhaps that’s holding your hand on your heart and rocking back and forth as you let your feelings pour forth like water from a fountain.

I don’t know where this invitation to feel freedom will lead you, but perhaps by tapping into your freedom, you might stand a little more boldly in this present moment, clear that your voice, your power and your freedom to live and love in a world that is kind, accessible, equitable, diverse and inclusive has the power to be become the world all our nibblings need.

Wheels up,
