more treat this halloween
Halloween is probably one of the most pedestrian holidays in the US (and I mean this in the literal not metaphorical way). What other holiday is associated with walking around??
And so, whether you are taking kids out for trick or treating or heading out at night to party, this is a great time to remember to be visible! And regardless of how you may or may not be celebrating, especially if you are driving or biking there’s going to be a lot of people, including children, out on the road.
Just like when biking, it’s so key to be visible at night (front/rear lights, safety vest).
So consider the following when going trick or treating or heading out to party: be lit up!
Now, I get it, you might not want to wear a safety vest in your costume, but little touches like glow sticks or a head lamp or reflective tap on your candy bag, can make a big difference.
And if you are out driving this week, especially on Halloween, this is time to slooooow down.
Out of excitement for candy or perhaps intoxication, people may forget to look both ways or dart out onto the street. Slowing down is an important way to keep you and your neighbors safe.
May your Halloween be filled with lots of treats and fun!
Wheels up,
Ellen
